Session 1 — Warm-Up and Placement

Activity:

  • Ball game, barcode level (immediate access for all)
  • Quick self-assessment: returning students open EdBlocks or EdScratch and build a simple drive program from memory. New students start with barcode exploration.
  • Instructor circulates and places students into two tracks: EdBlocks (new/review) or EdScratch (continuing)
  • Close: introduce capstone project concept — by Session 8, every team will present a working robot program that solves a problem they identified themselves

Materials: Ball game setup, barcode list, devices, USB cables
